Ecuador Pre-Mission Trip: November 10 – 13, 2022

A small group of four, led by Dr. Jamie Howard  completed a pre-mission trip to Cuenca.  

The group’s main objectives were to tour San Juan De Dios our new host hospital; meet with the administration; confirm the 2023 mission dates; to reconnect with the city’s Rotary Club and to hold a clinic to assess potential pre-operative patients. Twenty-three patients, 21 of whom  require surgery were seen.  We are grateful to it Dr. Manuel Avila, the team’s liaison physician in Cuenca for organizing this visit.  The Operation Walk Canada Ecuador Team is excited to return to this mission and to the work of providing surgeries which will restore mobility and improve quality of life for these patients.
