Dr. Bourne's painting goes to a worthy recipient

We can’t think of a more deserving person to win Dr. Bob Bourne’s painting! Margaret Duboyce has been donating to Operation Walk Canada every year since our inception in 2006. Dr. Bourne generously offered his painting as a door prize at our recent fundraising concert. 

Margaret, who is accompanied by her husband Art in this photo, knows better than most the value of new hips and knees. She’s got four of them, all performed by our board chair, Dr. Richard McCalden.

It was through Dr. McCalden that Margaret learned about Operation Walk twenty years ago. She’s been a big fan ever since and we are sincerely grateful for her support.

And look at that Dr. Bourne, surgeon turned painter! His wife Donna says there are days now when he disappears into his painting room after breakfast and doesn’t emerge until dinnertime. We figure the hours he spent in the operating room prepared him well for this level of dedication!
