Continuing Support Through 2020
Due to the extraordinary circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, Operation Walk Canada has had to cancel both of our 2020 medical missions, as well as our annual fall fundraising concert. This was to be our 15th year of missions and we are so proud of the number of patients in Ecuador and Guatemala we have been able to help since 2006.
During this time we are continuing to support the impoverished communities we serve in an effort to ensure that the medical facilities we utilize will be able to weather the pandemic and be ready to welcome our teams when it is safe to return.
In Ecuador, we are partnering with the local Rotary group and other international medical mission organizations to fundraise for the purchase of a sterilization autoclave for the operating room at Juan de Dios Hospital in Cuenca.
In Antigua, Guatemala we have pledged funds to help cover the salaries of health care professionals who are off work while the Hermano Pedro hospital is shut down.
If you have made a donation, sponsored our annual fundraising concert, or attended the Aeolian Hall event in the past, please consider doing so again this year. Your gift will go towards future missions post-pandemic or to efforts to sustain and improve the medical facilities where we operate.
