Operation Walk Canada

Prevention saves a life time of pain

We would like to make our surgery obsolete in Ecuador. To do this, Bob Bourne and John Gordon are partnering with some of the local clinicians in Cuenca to teach proper examination and diagnosis in babies. We are very excited about this project and hope it has very long term positive outcomes for the Ecuadorians
Isabella is an example of proper treatment for developmental dysplasia of the hip in babies. It is as easy as putting the baby in a special splint for a number of months to keep the hip in the proper position.

What a wonderful legacy this would be to diagnose and treat DDH in infancy and thus prevent invasive surgery. Kudos to Dr. Bourne and his partner in this venture.
